Silver
Guzarate, India
End of the 16th century, early 17th century
Mother-of-pearl
17.5 cm Diam.
MASF435

A deep dish made of plates of mother-of-pearl, arranged in two concentric bands around a central medallion, held by a silver pin, forming an elegant central motif of an open lotus flower. The rim has an original moulding of mother of pearl with a cut out edge, which makes it even rarer. Note the similarity of this piece with the plate in the Pádua Ramos1 collection.
